One late September afternoon I was driving on a dirt road near the Dallas Divide in Colorado when I came across this view. I literally hit the brakes because it was so breathtaking. A dusting of snow on the Sneffels Range from the previous night had coated the tops of the mountains. The yellow and orange aspens were at their peak. I have been by this spot several times in the past couple of years and the aspens have never come close to this blaze of color. |
