I had scouted out this site in Grand Teton National Park the day before and was waiting at sunrise for the mountains to light up. Since it was early October most of the snow had melted off and there were no clouds which made this an ordinary scene. As I headed back to the car I saw the trees in their fall coat light up. I hurried back to take this picture. An added bonus was the sunlight falling on the grasses in the foreground. Now where is a moose when you need one???
